Philip Henry Davis & Jessica F. Davis Petitioners v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent

ORDER

Elizabeth A. Copeland Judge

This case was scheduled to begin in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 15, 2020; but was canceled due to concerns relating to coronavirus (COVID-19) and specially assigned to this Division of the Court. The parties have being filing status reports, which indicate that they are exchanging information and that respondent has been attempting verification of certain information from a third-party banking institution. Based on the latest status report filed by respondent on August 16, 2021, the parties are working toward a settlement of the case without trial but need additional time. Returning the case to the general docket should allow time for such efforts, but also allow the case to be reset on a trial calendar if those efforts toward settlement are unproductive.

After due consideration, and for cause, it is

ORDERED that this case is no longer assigned to Judge Elizabeth A. Copeland and is restored to the general docket.
