Lorraine CORONADO, Appellant v. The STATE of Texas, Appellee

From the County Court at Law No. 7, Bexar County, Texas Trial Court No. 721051 Honorable Melanie Lira, Judge Presiding

ORDER

Luz Elena D. Chapa, Justice

On September 3, 2024, appellant filed her notice of appeal stating her intent to appeal a sentence imposed on August 6, 2024. The clerk's record has been filed in this appeal and a supplemental clerk's record was filed a few days later that included the judgment. However, neither the clerk's record nor the supplemental clerk's record include a copy of the trial court's certification of the defendant's right of appeal as required by Rule 25.2(a)(2) of the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure. See Tex. R. App. P. 25.2(a)(2) ("The trial court shall enter a certification of the defendant's right of appeal each time it enters a judgment of guilt or other appealable order other than an order appealable under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 64.").

Accordingly, we order the trial court to prepare a certification of the defendant's right of appeal on or before October 9, 2024. We further order the trial court clerk to file a supplemental clerk's record containing the trial court's certification within ten days of the trial court preparing the certification.
