Joseph E. Corcoran, Appellant, v. State of Indiana, Appellee.

Trial Court Case No. 02D04-9707-CF-465

ORDER

LORETTA H. RUSH, CHIEF JUSTICE

On June 26, 2024, the State moved to set an execution date for Joseph E. Corcoran, who was convicted of four counts of murder and sentenced to death in 1999. In its motion, the State asserts that Corcoran has no further grounds for review of the validity of his convictions or sentence and there is no active stay preventing Corcoran's execution.

Appellate Rule 34 provides that any party may file a response to a motion within fifteen days after the motion is served, and the certificate of service on the State's "Verified Motion to Set Execution Date" indicates the motion was served on the Public Defender of Indiana. Accordingly, if no response is filed by Thursday, July 11, 2024, the Court will enter an order setting an execution date. The parties are further directed to file all pleadings in this matter under case number 24S-SD-222.

All Justices concur.
