ORDER

On April 27, 2017, appellant filed a notice of appeal in trial court cause number 524802. That same day, appellant's retained counsel filed a motion to withdraw, stating he had only been retained to represent the appellant at trial. On May 1, 2017, the trial court signed an order allowing the attorney to withdraw.

On May 23, 2017, the trial court clerk filed a certificate of notice of appeal. Attached to the certificate is a letter from appellant dated May 9, 2017, stating his intention to withdraw his appeal. In order for this court to dismiss the appeal, however, appellant must file a motion in this court requesting that his appeal be dismissed. TEX. R. APP. P. 42.2(a). It is therefore ORDERED that if appellant wants to dismiss his appeal, he must file a motion requesting that his appeal be dismissed no later than two weeks from the date of this order.
