Jose J. Cisneros Petitioner v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes, Judge

This case was on the January 25, 2021 Los Angeles, California trial calendar. We moved it to a status-report track because both parties thought that they would be able to settle with some informal discovery. Progress was good for a while but then ground to a halt. We spoke with the parties and learned that Mr. Cisneros has become quite ill. It is possible, however, that the parties may be able to settle on the basis of the documents that have already been exchanged. Respondent promised to perform the computations needed to arrive at a proposed settlement figure; petitioner's counsel promised to discuss it with members of the Cisneros family who've been helping. It is therefore

ORDERED that on or before April 19, 2022 the parties shall submit settlement documents or file a status report to describe their progress toward settling the case.
