EMILIO M. CEREJO & DAWN H. CEREJO, Petitioners v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Christian N. Weiler, Judge.

On March 28, 2022, the Court granted petitioners' motion to stay proceedings. On June 21, 2022, respondent filed a status report which represents that since the granting of the stay proceedings, the parties have not worked together on this case. Respondent acknowledges receipt of petitioners' bank records from Switzerland which are currently being analyzed by respondent's revenue agent.

On June 22, 2022, petitioners filed a separate status report informing the Court that petitioner Emilio Cerejo continues to suffer from and receive treatment for the effects of post-Covid pneumonia and hemochromatosis. Mr. Cerejo represents that he has not been able to resume a normal productive life. Petitioners request that the Court continue the stay in this matter for another 90 days and set a status conference for on or about September 22, 2022.

Given due consideration of the parties' status reports, it is

ORDERED that a telephone status conference with the Court and the parties herein is set for August 25, 2022, at 11:00a.m. (EST) to discuss the status of this case. The Court will separately furnish counsel for the parties' dial-in information for the telephone status conference, and if counsels for the parties are unavailable at this scheduled time, counsels are to notify Chambers as soon as possible.

The parties are encouraged to confer in advance of the status call and be prepared to discuss whether trial is necessary in this matter.
