CHARLIE HAROLD CARLEE, Appellant v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee

On Appeal from the 56th District Court Galveston County, Texas Trial Court Cause Nos. 23-CR-1173 & 21-CR-3058

Panel Consists of Justices Spain, Poissant, and Wilson.

ORDER

PER CURIAM.

Appellant is represented by appointed counsel, Greg Russell, in these two appeals. Appellant's brief was originally due May 20, 2024 in these two appeals. We granted two extensions of time to file appellant's brief until August 19, 2024. When we granted the final extension, we noted that no further extensions would be granted absent exceptional circumstances. No brief was filed. On August 19, 2024 counsel filed a further request to extend time to file appellant's brief. To date, counsel has submitted no brief. We deny the request and issue the following order.

Accordingly, we order Greg Russell to file a brief with the clerk of this court in these two appeals on or before September 18, 2024. No extensions of this deadline will be granted absent exceptional circumstances. If appellant's counsel does not timely file the brief as ordered, the court may issue an order requiring appointment of new counsel.
