Daniel BULLARD, Appellant v. Shannon HUDSON, Appellee

From the County Court at Law No. 3, Bexar County, Texas Trial Court No. 2023CV06019 Honorable David J. Rodriguez, Judge Presiding

ORDER

IRENE RIOS, JUSTICE

On February 1, 2024, we issued an order directing appellant to file a written response by February 12, 2024 explaining why this appeal should not be dismissed as moot. Because our February 1 order suspended "[a]ll other appellate deadlines . . . until further order of this court," the due date for appellant's brief has not yet been set.

On February 5, 2024, appellant filed a motion requesting a fourteen-day extension of time to file his brief. Because appellant's brief is not yet due, we construe this motion as requesting an extension of time to respond to our February 1 order. After consideration, we GRANT the motion and ORDER appellant to file a written response by February 22, 2024 explaining why this appeal should not be dismissed as moot. We caution appellant that if he does not file an adequate response by the deadline specified in this order, we will dismiss this appeal for lack of jurisdiction.
