FREDERICK ALTYMAN BROWN, JR., Appellant v. JOE JORDAN TRUCKS, INC., Appellee
On Appeal from the 191st Judicial District Court Dallas County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. DC-21-14024.
ORDER
ROBERT D. BURNS, III, CHIEF JUSTICE.
Counsel for appellant has filed a suggestion of death informing the Court that appellant has passed away. It appears that counsel now seeks to withdraw as counsel following appellant's death. This Court must have the name of the person who will represent appellant's estate in this appeal. Accordingly, we ORDER the Honorable Gena Slaughter, Presiding Judge of the 191st Judicial District Court, to provide this Court, within sixty days of the date of this order, with written verification of the name, address, phone number, and email address of the name of the person representing appellant's estate. The trial court shall conduct a hearing if necessary in order to obtain the required information.
Ms. Laster will remain as counsel for appellant. She may move to withdraw as counsel after the trial court provides this Court with the name of the representative for appellant's estate.
We DIRECT the Clerk of this Court to send a copy of this order to Judge Slaughter and all parties.
We ABATE this appeal for sixty days to allow the trial court an opportunity to comply with this order. The appeal will be reinstated in sixty days, or when we receive written verification of the name and contact information of the representative of appellant's estate.
