The Supreme Court initially denied allocatur but then granted the Braccos' petition on June 23, 1989. In a per curiam opinion, Bracco v. Borough of Jefferson, 531 Pa. 398, 613 A.2d 555 (1992), the Supreme Court reversed this court's order of February 2, because of the Supreme Court's recent decision in Appeal of Borough of Churchill, 525 Pa. 80, 575 A.2d 550 (1990). In Churchill the Supreme Court held that a trial judge's invitation or authorization to file post-trial motions in a particular case can negate the finality of a previous order.
