RUSS E. BOLTZ & SHARON ANN JACOBS, Petitioners v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Jennifer E. Siegel Special Trial Judge.

This case was commenced by petition filed August 25, 2023. By Notice served September 24, 2024, the case was calendared for trial at the Court's February 24, 2025, Winston-Salem, North Carolina trial session. On November 12, 2024, respondent filed a motion for continuance, explaining that "[w]hile respondent has requested assignment of this matter to an Independent Appeals Officer, no such appeals officer has been assigned to date, and petitioners informed respondent's counsel that they would like the opportunity to work with the Appeals Division to pursue settlement of this matter."

Upon due consideration of the pending motion, it is

ORDERED that the parties shall, on or before December 16, 2024, file with the Court a joint report, addressing therein (1) the status of an assignment of this case to an appeals officer, and (2) the parties' efforts at resolving the case or narrowing the issues for trial.
