ORDER
A status conference regarding the above captioned case was scheduled to take place in Courtroom 12D at 3:30 p.m. on March 25, 2002. Plaintiff failed to make an appearance either in person or through counsel.
The order setting the conference was mailed to the parties on March 7, 2002. Plaintiff called Chambers on Friday March 22, 2002. During this phone call, he indicated his awareness of the scheduled status conference. Plaintiff gave no indication that he did not plan on appearing at the conference.
According to Michele Horan, counsel for the defendant, she received a phone call at approximately 12:30 pm on March 25, 2002 from a woman who indicated that: (1) she had spoken with the plaintiff about the possibility that she might represent him, (2) she had yet to be retained by plaintiff, and (3) plaintiff would not be making an appearance at the pretrial conference scheduled for later that afternoon.
The parties are ordered to appear at a status conference in Courtroom 12D at 11:30 a.m. on April 15, 2002. Failure by plaintiff to make an appearance, either in person on by counsel, may result in the dismissal of this action.
SO ORDERED.
