SHAHVAND ARYANA, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge.

This case was set for trial on the January 30, 2023 Los Angeles, California trial calendar. Petitioner's counsel suffered a health emergency and it will need to be postponed again. We spoke with the parties today to discuss next steps. Respondent suggested that the trial be moved to Washington for trial. Petitioner promised to consult with his client about that possibility. Petitioner promised to make accountants who have been working on petitioner's case available to respondent so each side can better understand each other's position. Petitioner also promised to describe to respondent his own theory supporting his return position without the need for a contention interrogatory. And both parties agreed to state their current estimates of the trial time needed after the last-minute flurry of stipulations reached in the days before this scheduled trial. It is also

ORDERED that the parties file a joint status report on or before March 2, 2023 describing their progress toward settlement or trial readiness.
