On order of the Court, Canon 7 of the Code of Judicial Conduct having been amended in In re Chmura, 461 Mich. ___; ___ N.W.2d ___ (2000), and the amendment being effective immediately, we issue this order to provide additional notice of the amendment.

[The present language is to be repealed and replaced by the following language unless otherwise indicated below.]

CANON 7 A Judge or a Candidate for Judicial Office Should Refrain From Political Activity Inappropriate to Judicial Office

A. [Unchanged.]

B. Campaign Conduct.

(1) A candidate, including an incumbent judge, for a judicial office:

(a) — (c) [Unchanged.]

(d) should not knowingly, or with reckless disregard, use or participate in the use of any form of public communication that is false.

(2) — (3) [Unchanged.]

C. — D. [Unchanged.]
