Jacob Alvarado v. The State of Texas

212th District Court of Galveston County No. 20-CR-0997

ORDER

Amparo Moniqu Guerra, Judge

Appellant, Jacob Alvarado, appealed from the trial court's April 5, 2023 judgment in the underlying cause. Appellant filed his brief on December 14, 2023. Accordingly, the State's brief was initially due on January 16, 2024. See Tex. R. App. P. 38.6(b). On January 16, 2024, the State filed a motion for extension of time to file a brief. The State's motion was granted, extending the deadline for filing its brief to March 15, 2024.

On March 15, 2024, the State filed its second motion for extension of time to file a brief. The State's motion was granted, extending the deadline for filing its brief to April 15, 2024. On April 15, 2024, the State filed its third motion for extension of time to file a brief. In its third motion, the State requests that the deadline for filing its brief be extended to April 26, 2024.

The State's motion is granted. The State's brief is due to be filed no later than April 26, 2024. No further extensions will be considered by the Court and failure to file a brief by April 26, 2024 may result in the Court setting the case "at-issue" and considering and deciding the case without a brief from the State. See Tex. R. App. P. 38.6(d).

It is so ORDERED.
