Section 515.630 - Evaluation and Recognition of Military Experience and Educationa)In prescribing licensure testing requirements for honorably discharged members of the armed forces of the United States under this Part, the Department shall ensure that a candidate's military emergency medical training, emergency medical curriculum completed, and clinical experience, as described in this Section, are recognized. (Section 3.50(d)(2) of the Act)b) The Department will review applications for EMS Personnel licensure from honorably discharged members of the armed forces of the United States with military emergency medical training.c) The Department will provide application forms. Applications shall be filed with the Department within one year after military discharge and shall contain the following: 1) Documentation that the application is being filed within one year after military discharge;2)Proof of successful completion of military emergency medical training or National Registry certification;3)A detailed description of the emergency medical curriculum completed, including official documentation demonstrating basic coursework and curriculum; and4)A detailed description and official documentation of the applicant's clinical experience or current National certification.d)The Department may request additional and clarifying information and supporting documentation, if necessary, to verify the information provided in subsection (c).e)The Department shall evaluate the application, including the applicant's training and experience, consistent with the standards set forth under Section 3.10(a), (b), (c) or (d) of the Act and this Part, to determine if the applicant qualifies for the licensure level for which the applicant has applied.f)If the application clearly demonstrates that the training and experience meets the standards of subsection (e), the Department shall offer the applicant the opportunity to successfully complete a Department-approved EMS Personnel examination for the level of license for which the applicant is qualified, in accordance with Section 515.530.g)Upon the applicant's passage of an examination and having paid all required fees, as set forth in Sections 515.530 and 515.460, the Department shall issue a license that shall be subject to all provisions of the Act and this Part that are otherwise applicable to the class of EMS Personnel license issued, as set forth in Section 515.590.
