From the 381st Judicial District Court, Starr County, Texas
Trial Court No. 15-CRS-402
Honorable Jose Luis Garza, Judge Presiding

ORDER

The State's brief was originally due to be filed in this appeal on May 26, 2017. On May 31, 2017, the State filed a motion requesting a forty-five day extension of time to file the brief. The motion stated the State was unaware of the deadline but had updated its e-filing system email to receive all future correspondence from the court. By order dated June 6, 2017, the State's motion was granted, extending the deadline to July 15, 2017. On June 29, 2017, the State filed a second motion for extension of time to file the brief, requesting an additional extension to August 18, 2017 which date is almost ninety days after the original due date. The motion is GRANTED. THIS IS THE FINAL EXTENSION OF TIME THE STATE WILL BE GRANTED. The State's brief must be filed by August 18, 2017, or the case will be set "at issue" and will be submitted without a State's brief.
