Daniel Wood v. State of Mississippi

EN BANC

DeSoto Circuit Court;

LC Case #: 17CI1:18-cv-00070-GC;

Ruling Date: 05/29/2018;

Ruling Judge: Gerald Chatham, Sr.;

Disposition: Wood's pro se motion to unseal the State's brief is granted. After the minor victim's name is redacted from the appellate record, the record shall be unsealed and the electronic docket for this case shall be made available to the public. Although the State did not previously disclose the minor victim's name in its appellate brief, the State shall have seven days from the entry of this order to file an unsealed copy of its brief. This order shall not be construed as though it vacates or otherwise impacts the DeSoto County Circuit Court's order sealing its retained copy of the record to prevent the disclosure of the minor victim's identity. Wood's pro se "motion to dismiss case and indictment due to prejudicial bias and threats from the State" is denied without prejudice to the issues that he has raised on appeal. Order entered.
