BRENDA LEE WILLIAMS, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Kathleen Kerrigan Chief Judge

On August 14, 2023, a petition was filed to commence this case. The copy of the notice of deficiency attached to the petition was not redacted to eliminate references to petitioner's taxpayer identification number. On August 17, 2023, petitioner filed a Motion to Seal, requesting that her petition be sealed to protect her confidential taxpayer information. We will hold petitioner's motion in abeyance pending the submission of a redacted petition in which references to petitioner's taxpayer identification number in the attached notice of deficiency have been eliminated.

Upon due consideration of the foregoing, it is

ORDERED that the petition filed to commence this case is temporarily sealed. It is further

ORDERED that, on or before September 11, 2023, petitioner may file a redacted petition. That redacted petition must be an exact duplicate of the original petition filed on August 14, 2023, but with references to petitioner's taxpayer identification number eliminated from the notice of deficiency attached to the petition. If petitioner does not file the redacted petition as directed, the temporary seal on the unredacted petition will be lifted.
