ORDER

The above entitled matter came before the court for status conference on May 13, 2004. Counsel for all defendants either present and/or represented by other counsel; defendants were not present; and the United States was represented by Assistant United States Attorney Leshia M. Lee-Dixon.

Defense counsel reported status of discovery. Some documents provided as discovery were unreadable. All defense counsel will identify documents with problems, provide a list of requested documents to Lee Rasmussen. After the list is provided to the government, one copy of these documents will be provided to Lee Rasmussen. The documents will then be made available to all defense counsel.

Based on the discovery process continuing, the Court finds that further status conference is necessary for defense counsel to review discovery and in order for the Court to set a motion cut off date.

It is HEREBY ORDERED that a further status conference is scheduled for June 18, 2004 at 8:30 am. The Court FURTHER ORDERS that all time from May 13, 2004 up to and including June 18, 2004 is excluded for the purposes of the Speedy Trial Act based on the complicated nature of the case, the need for defense counsel to have adequate time to review discovery, make a determination on the motions anticipated and a time frame within which to set motion cut off dates. The ends of justice in granting a further status conference outweighs the best interest of the public and defendants in having a Speedy Trial. 18 U.S.C. § 3161(h)(8)(A)(i)(ii).
