18 U.S.C.A. ยง 1001. Defendant has suggested that this court's decision in United States v. Aarons, 718 F.2d 188 (1983), rhg. denied per curiam, 734 F.2d 1180 (6th Cir. 1984), impliedly adopted the "exculpatory no" exception. The decision in Aarons, however, did not consider the "exculpatory no" doctrine; the defendant Aarons was prosecuted for not volunteering information to the government.
