Thomas v. Dep't of Veterans Affairs

United States District Court, S.D. New York
Sep 6, 2005
No. 05 Civ. 5348 (LAK) (S.D.N.Y. Sep. 6, 2005)

Opinion

No. 05 Civ. 5348 (LAK).

September 6, 2005

Dear Judge Kaplan:

This Office represents the defendant, United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and makes a limited appearance on behalf of the named individual defendants in the above-referenced pro se employment discrimination action respectfully to request a thirty-day extension from August 30, 2005, until September 29, 2005, to answer or move with respect to the complaint. The extension is necessary because this Office has no information beyond the complaint at this time and therefore cannot respond meaningfully to the complaint. In addition, the named individual defendants are in the process of seeking Department of Justice representation. This is defendant's first request for an extension. I made several telephone calls to plaintiff using the number provided in the complaint, but I was unable to reach her for her consent.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

SO ORDERED.
