MEMORANDUM OPINION

Opinion by Chief Justice Burns
We reinstate this appeal which was abated and administratively closed on May 14, 1987 due to the filing of bankruptcy. In the thirty-two years since the abatement, neither party has communicated with the Court.
By letter dated January 28, 2020, we directed the parties to notify the Court, within ten days, whether the bankruptcy proceedings remained pending. Only appellee's former counsel responded, and he stated he had no knowledge of the matter.
A party has a responsibility to prosecute its appeal and comply with court directives; failure to do so may warrant dismissal. See TEX. R. APP. P. 42.3(b),(c). This appeal was filed in October 1986, and since May 1987, appellant has taken no action to ensure the appeal proceeds forward or otherwise communicated with the Court even when directed to do so. Accordingly, based on appellant's inactions, we dismiss the appeal. See id. 42.3(b), (c).
