This original action returns to this Court on remand from our Supreme Court, in part, to consider whether state funding to public school academies authorized by a school district, an intermediate school district, or a community college should be counted as state spending to a unit of local government for purposes of § 30 of the Headlee Amendment. Taxpayers for Michigan Constitutional Government v State of Michigan, Mich. (2021). To assist this Court in this task, the parties are ordered to proceed as follows:

(1) Plaintiffs shall efile in the Court of Appeals and served upon defendants, within 21 days of the Clerk's certification of this order, their supplemental brief addressing the question posed by our Supreme Court.

(2) Defendants shall efile in this Court and serve on plaintiffs their responsive brief within 21 days of the receipt of plaintiffs' brief.

(3) Plaintiffs shall efile any reply brief within 14 days of the receipt of defendants' responsive brief. The reply brief must be confined to rebuttal of the arguments in defendants' brief, and must be limited to 15 pages, exclusive of tables, indexes, and appendices.

(4) Amici may efile a joint Amici Curiae Brief with this Court, which shall be limited to 50 pages, within 21 days of the Clerk's certification of this order.

(5) No extensions of time will be allowed for filing of the briefs except by order of the Court
