RANDY S. STAUB, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Kathleen Kerrigan, Chief Judge.

On January 11, 2023, petitioner filed a document titled Statement Statement of Taxpayer Identification Number (statement of taxpayer identification number). Because statements of taxpayer identification number contain sensitive taxpayer information, those forms are not properly filed as a part of the Court's record, which is open to the public. Also, on January 11, 2023, petitioner filed an Exhibit(s), which consists of a copy of the notice of deficiency on which this case is based. The Court notes that sensitive taxpayer information was not properly redacted from that notice of deficiency, in accordance with Rule 27(a), Tax Court Rules of Practice and Procedure.

Upon due consideration, it is

ORDERED that petitioner's statement of taxpayer identification number is stricken from the Court's record in this case. It is further

ORDERED that petitioner's above-referenced statement of taxpayer identification number and Exhibit(s) are sealed and shall not be inspected by any person or entity not a party to this case, except by an Order of the Court. It is further

ORDERED that, on or before January 19, 2023, petitioner shall file a Response to this Order and attach thereto a copy of the notice of deficiency on which this case is based that has been properly redacted of petitioner's sensitive taxpayer information.
