STATE of Louisiana v. Nancy ROGERS

Stay denied. Writ application denied.

Weimer, C.J., additionally concurs and assigns reasons.

McCallum, J., concurs for reasons assigned by Chief Justice Weimer.

WEIMER, C.J., additionally concurring.

I concur in the denial of defendant's writ application. I point out the courthouse sustained severe damage as a result of Hurricane Laura. Normal court operations have been affected and repairs are ongoing. As a result, the courthouse simply does not have an appropriate physical space to conduct oral arguments in person. The only way for the court to move its docket is to conduct arguments via Zoom.
