The burden was on Rodriguez to show the existence of good cause to withdraw his plea. See Schow, 287 Kan. at 546. In the absence of any medical evidence from Rodriguez that the tossing incident could have caused J.R.'s injuries, I believe it was reasonable for the district court to assume that there was no connection between the tossing incident and J.R.'s injuries a month later. Based on the record presented, I am unwilling to conclude that the district court abused its discretion in finding that Rodriguez failed to establish good cause to and I would affirm the district court's denial of Rodriguez' presentence motion to withdraw his plea.
