STATE OF LOUISIANA v. RICHARD JUNE JOHNSON

In Re: Richard June Johnson, applying for supervisory writs, 23rd Judicial District Court, Parish of Ascension, No. 36263. BEFORE: WELCH, CRAIN, AND HOLDRIDGE, JJ.

WRIT DENIED. The records of the Clerk of Court of Ascension Parish reflect that on November 10, 2016, relator was billed on the charge at issue in this writ application. The records further reflect that on March 1, 2017, the district court granted relator's counseled motion for speedy trial, and set this case for a jury trial to be held on July 11, 2017. Thus, a request for release under La. Code Crim. P. art. 701(B) is moot. See State v. Varmall, 539 So.2d 45, 46 (La. 1989) (per curiam).
