ORDER
This matter comes before the court on the defendant's MOTION TO APPLYJAIL CREDITS, STAMPED AS FILED JUNE 2, 2015 .
The defendant contends his jail credits are not being applied properly by theDepartment of Corrections. This court does not have jurisdiction on such a question andcannot afford relief.
By law, a defendant shall receive credit toward service of his sentence for timespent in actual custody prior to the imposition of sentence. LSA-C.Cr.P. art. 880. Atsentencing, the court ordered that the defendant be given credit for time served. Thus thedefendant has already been sentenced with credit for time served, as required by law.
This court is not in a position to determine the calculation of the defendant'ssentence and, insofar as he seeks to contest the calculation of his sentence, he mustproceed in another venue. By statute, claims contesting good time dates, computation ofsentence, or parole are governed by LSA-R.S. 15:571.15. For this reason, such a claimmay only be filed in the parish of East Baton Rouge. A defendant may appeal anunfavorable outcome of such a proceeding.
