FROM THE 396TH DISTRICT COURT OF TARRANT COUNTY
TRIAL COURT NO. 1448521D MEMORANDUM OPINION
Appellant Justin Tyler Scott pleaded guilty pursuant to a plea bargain to assault on a public servant, a third-degree felony, in exchange for two years' confinement. He now attempts to appeal his conviction.
On October 5, 2016, we notified Appellant that the trial court's certification of his right of appeal states that this is a plea-bargain case and that he has no right of appeal. We informed Appellant that unless he or any party desiring to continue the appeal filed with the court, on or before October 17, 2016, a response showing grounds for continuing the appeal, the appeal would be dismissed. See Tex. R. App. P. 25.2(a)(2), (d), 44.3.
Appellant filed a response, but it does not show grounds for continuing the appeal. Cf. Tex. R. App. P. 25.2(a)(2)(A), (B) (stating that in a plea bargain case, a defendant may appeal only matters that were raised by written motion and ruled on before trial or after getting the trial court's permission to appeal). Therefore, we dismiss the appeal. See Tex. R. App. P. 25.2(d), 43.2(f).
