This case was on the January 30, 2023 Los Angeles, California trial calendar. It arises from a number of substantiation issues from a dental practice. Petitioners were slow in providing substantiation because their return preparer had died unexpectedly and they could not easily obtain the records that preparer had; there were also problems in transmitting files betweeh IRS Appeals and Counsel. We spoke with the parties today to discuss how to bring the case to a conclusion. Both parties are cooperating in informal discovery, but to make sure the case is either settled or ready to be tried, it is
