FROM THE 98TH DISTRICT COURT OF TRAVIS COUNTY
NO. D-1-GN-18-005721
THE HONORABLE STEPHEN YELENOSKY, JUDGE PRESIDINGORDER
PER CURIAM
Appellant has filed an unopposed motion for emergency relief, seeking a stay of enforcement of the trial court's April 4, 2019 order denying appellant's motion to seal court records in the underlying lawsuit, pending the resolution of this appeal of the order. We grant the motion and temporarily stay enforcement of the trial court's April 4, 2019 order denying appellant's motion to seal court records, pending further order of this Court. See Dallas Morning News v. Fifth Court of Appeals, 842 S.W.2d 655, 657-58 (Tex. 1992) (holding that courts of appeals are authorized to issue orders to protect their jurisdiction over appeals brought under Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a); see also Oryon Techs., Inc. v. Marcus, 429 S.W.3d 762, 766-67 (Tex. App.—Dallas 2014, no pet.) (explaining that appellant's rights will not be adequately protected by supersedeas bond in most Rule 76a appeals and concluding that stay of trial court's order denying motion to seal records was necessary to preserve appellants' presumptive rights in documents during pendency of appeal of trial court's order).
It is ordered on June 27, 2019. Before Justices Goodwin, Baker, and Triana
