Richardson v. State

COURT OF APPEALS OF THE STATE OF NEVADA
Mar 25, 2021
482 P.3d 729 (Nev. App. 2021)

Opinion

No. 81738-COA

03-25-2021

Jaffar RICHARDSON, Appellant, v. The STATE of Nevada, Respondent.

Jaffar Richardson Attorney General/Carson City Washoe County District Attorney

Jaffar Richardson

Attorney General/Carson City

Washoe County District Attorney

ORDER OF AFFIRMANCE

Richardson contends the district court erred by failing to consider his claims of ineffective assistance of counsel. The district court properly found that such claims were outside the scope of a motion to modify or correct an illegal sentence. See Edwards v. State, 112 Nev. 704, 708, 918 P.2d 321, 324 (1996). Therefore, without considering the merits of Richardson's claims, we conclude the district court did not err and Richardson is not entitled to relief. Accordingly, we

ORDER the judgment of the district court AFFIRMED.
