ORDER

Petitioner was convicted of one count of especially aggravated robbery and two counts of first degree murder, and was sentenced to death for each murder conviction. Following his trial, he unsuccessfully appealed his convictions and sentences. State v. Reid, 91 S.W.3d 247 (Tenn. 2002). He has now filed a post-conviction petition challenging those convictions and sentences.

As the Court is statutorily required to do, it hereby orders the Office of the Post-Conviction Defender to represent petitioner in this matter. That office has ninety days from the date of this Order to file an amended petition or notice that it does not intend to file such a petition. The State will then have thirty days to file a response as well as all relevant transcripts, exhibits, and pleadings from the trial proceedings.

The Court shall conduct a status conference on September 2, 2003, at which time the petitioner shall provide the State with the reports of all expert witnesses whose testimony he intends to present during the post-conviction hearing. If petitioner expects to present mental health expert testimony at the hearing, the State's mental health experts will be given an opportunity to evaluate petitioner. The State must provide petitioner with copies of its experts' reports on or before November 2, 2003. The Court will conduct a post-conviction hearing the week of December 1, 2003.

The Court expects the parties to comply with all applicable post-conviction discovery provisions. In the event a dispute arises, the parties shall bring the matter to the Court's attention as soon as reasonably possible.
