HIGHWAYS AND STREETS, § 541when verdict in action for injuries resulting from fall on sidewalk was against manifest weight of evidence. In action for damages for personal injuries resulting from fall on sidewalk, where plaintiff contended that injuries were proximate result of defendant's negligence in maintaining broken sidewalk, and it appeared from testimony that there were no defects in part of sidewalk where plaintiff testified she fell, and testimony of plaintiff and her granddaughter was conflicting as to where and how accident happened, held that verdict for plaintiff was against manifest weight of evidence.

Appeal from the Circuit Court of Cook county; the Hon. PAUL A. JONES, Judge, presiding.

Reversed and remanded for new trial. Heard in the third division, first district, this court at the December term, 1944.
