PEOPLE v. VALENCIA (ALFREDO)

Order filed

Condemned inmate Alfredo Valencia's “Application for Release of Files, Records, and Confidential Materials,” filed on June 17, 2019, is granted in part, and denied in part as follows. Valencia's counsel, the Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California, is granted access to the sealed and confidential materials contained in the record in People v. Valencia (S051451), except for: (1) Confidential “Case Info Sheet,” pages 18-46; (2) Confidential “Case Info Sheet,” pages 49-64; (3) Confidential “Case Info Sheet,” pages 66-82; (4) Confidential “Case Info Sheet,” pages 84-102; and (5) Confidential “Case Info Sheet,” pages 104-112. The denial as to these items is without prejudice to filing a motion for access in the superior court. Valencia's application is denied as unnecessary as to the records in In re Alfredo Valencia (S167195) because those records do not contain any sealed or confidential documents.

Counsel must supply the personnel and equipment necessary to undertake the review and copying of the records to which access is granted. The review and copying must occur on the premises of the court. Counsel must not release or cause to be released any of the sealed or confidential material or any of the information contained therein to anyone other than counsel's agents without prior order of this court.
