PEOPLE v. ERVIN (CURTIS LEE)
Counsel appointment order filed
Condemned prisoner Curtis Lee Ervin's “Motion (1) for Change of Attorney Designation (as to Lead and Co-counsel), and (2) for Payment of Attorneys' Fees and Expenses to Exhaust State Remedies Pursuant to Federal Court Order,” filed October 7, 2022, is granted in part and denied in part as follows.
The March 19, 2003, order appointing Robert R. Bryan and Pamala Sayasane as lead and associate habeas corpus/executive clemency counsel, respectively, is hereby vacated.
Attorney Pamala Sayasane is hereby appointed as lead habeas corpus/executive clemency counsel of record for Curtis Lee Ervin, and Robert R. Bryan is appointed as associate counsel of record on behalf of Ervin, for purposes of all postconviction proceedings in this court including the preparation and filing of a petition for clemency with the Governor of California, as appropriate. In all other respects the motion is denied.
