CONTEMPT, § 73when answer failed to purge defendant of contempt. In proceeding for contempt committed out of presence of court, where defendant had been observing certain court proceedings in court room and in recess of court assaulted witness who had testified and had already departed from court room, defendant's answer which failed to deny assault or set out that defendant was acting in self defense held insufficient to purge defendant of contempt.

Error to the Circuit Court of Peoria county; the Hon. HENRY J. INGRAM, Judge, presiding.

Judgment affirmed. Heard in this court at the May term, 1944.
