SUNIL S. PATEL & LAURIE MCANALLY PATEL, ET AL., Petitioner v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue, Respondent

ORDER

COURTNEY D. JONES, JUDGE

Jurisdiction of these cases is retained by the undersigned. On October 22, 2020, the parties filed a joint status report and advised that they have a "strong preference" to hold an in-person trial when the Court determines that it is safe to do so. The report nevertheless acknowledges that despite the preference for an in-person trial, they "do not want to postpone this matter indefinitely and acknowledge it would be possible to conduct these proceedings remotely."

On August 10, 2021, the Court held a conference call during which the parties confirmed their continued preference for an in-person special trial session and their willingness to change the place of trial to Washington, D.C. Upon due consideration, it is

ORDERED that, on or before, September 10, 2021, the parties shall file a joint status report regarding their readiness for trial, including the status of discovery, stipulations, and expert witnesses, as discussed during the conference call; an estimated length for trial; and proposed dates for an in-person trial scheduled to commence during the months of February to April of 2022.
