John J. Obey & Cynthia A. Obey, et al., Petitioners v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge

These cases were on the Court's June 12, 2023 trial calendar for Buffalo, New York. They arise from a research credit that the IRS denied. Such cases often create large document productions; the parties recently reported very little in the way of informal discovery. The Court is disinclined to put these cases on a pretrial-order track, but may have to do so if informal discovery doesn't accelerate. In the meantime it is

ORDERED that on or before October 17, 2023 the parties shall file a status report describing their progress toward settlement, and especially their progress in informal discovery.
