HIGHWAYS AND STREETS, § 551village's liability for automobile accident occurring on attempt to cross temporary bridge over railroad tracks. In action for personal injuries sustained when, at dusk on winter evening, plaintiffs' automobile, in course of making right turn and undertaking to cross temporary bridge over railroad tracks, came in contact with automobile proceeding in opposite direction and slid or rolled off of bridge's approach, which was covered with film of icy clay, down embankment, held that evidence, which showed obstacles to plaintiff driver's vision, etc., was ample to sustain verdicts against village which had contracted for bridge, but that, under circumstances, verdicts against contractor could not stand.

Appeal from the Circuit Court of Cook county; the Hon. ROBERT A. MEIER, JR., Judge, presiding. Judgment affirmed in part and reversed in part. Heard in the third division, first district, this court at the June term, 1943.
