CASEY GWEEN MILES, Appellant v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee

On Appeal from the 8th District Court Hopkins County, Texas
Trial Court No. 1726248 Before Morriss, C.J., Moseley and Burgess, JJ.
MEMORANDUM OPINION

Casey Gween Miles pled guilty to and was convicted of the offense of aggravated sexual assault of a child younger than fourteen years of age. In our companion cause numbered 06-18-00071-CR, Miles also appeals from another conviction for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Miles has filed a single brief in which he raises an issue common to both of his appeals. Specifically, Miles argues that his counsel rendered ineffective assistance by failing to present any mitigating evidence during the punishment phase of his trial.

We addressed this issue in detail in our opinion of this date on Miles' appeal in cause number 06-18-00071-CR. For the reasons stated therein, we likewise conclude that ineffective assistance of counsel has not been shown in this case.

We affirm the trial court's judgment.
