JOHN PHILLIP MEYER, Petitioner, v. AUSTIN KNUDSEN, in his official capacity as MONTANA ATTORNEY GENERAL, Respondent.


ORDER

Petitioner John Meyer has filed an Original Proceeding asking this Court to review the Montana Attorney General's determination that Citizen Initiative I-33 (I-33) "cannot amend the Montana Constitution to include prekindergarten in the system of free public schools," and the legality of § 13-27-312(8), MCA, which allows the Attorney General to review a proposed ballot issue for legal sufficiency.

The Court deems it appropriate to obtain a response.

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Respondent Attorney General Austin Knudsen has fourteen (14) days from the date of this Order to file a response to the Original Proceeding.

The Clerk is directed to provide a copy of this Order to counsel for Petitioner and Attorney General Austin Knudsen.
