PAM MCNANEY AND JOHN MCNANEY, DECEASED, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes, Judge

This case was on the Court's October 25, 2021 trial calendar for San Francisco, California. The parties had reported last year that respondent has reviewed petitioners' voluminous substantiation, but then asked for more. Then the lawyer representing petitionera moved from his old firm. Securing his clients' consent to continue the representation has been hampered by the passing of Mr. McNaney, whose widow has not been responding to requests to decide whom she wants to represent her. We spoke with the attorneys today, and petitioners' current attorney related his attempts to contact Mrs. McNaney. He is now relying on snail mail to reestablish contact and get her to decide on representation. We also discussed a few other ways to get around this obstacle, but this is a good first idea. It is therefore

ORDERED that on or before April 18, 2023 petitioner shall file a status report describing any progress in clarifying petitioners' representation.
