STEVEN JORDAN, Appellant v. MELANIE AARON, Appellee

On Appeal from the 160th Judicial District Court Dallas County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. DC-18-03928

ORDER

KEN MOLBERG, JUSTICE

Before the Court is appellant's "Unopposed Motion to Extend Time to File Amended Rehearing Brief," which was filed on August 15, 2023. We GRANT the motion and ORDER that appellant file an amended motion for rehearing, if any, by no later than August 26, 2023. See TEX. R. APP. P. 49.1, 49.8. Further requests for extension will be disfavored.

Previously, on August 7, 2023, less than fifteen days following our July 31, 2023 judgment in this matter, appellant also filed another document that asked us to grant rehearing. That August 7, 2023 filing, which was entitled "Appellant's Unopposed First Motion to Extend Time to File Appellant's Brief," suggested appellant was seeking an extension of time to file a motion for rehearing, but the motion's substantive text sought rehearing, not an extension of time. We have not yet considered and make no comment here upon the August 7, 2023 filing, except to note that we consider it to be a timely-filed motion for rehearing under rule 49.1. See TEX. R. APP. P. 49.1. Thus, while no amended motion for rehearing is required to be filed, should appellant wish to file one, he may do so no later than August 26, 2023, as reflected in this order.
