Denise Shawhan appeals the district court's continued placement of her daughter, Nicole, in pre-adoptive foster care instead of with her cousin. We dismiss the appeal.
Discussion. Nicole was removed from Denise's care in February 2002 as a result of Denise's arrest and subsequent incarceration on felony drug charges. Denise's parental rights were terminated on January 6, 2003, and that decision was affirmed on appeal. In re N.S., No. 03-0089 (Iowa Ct.App. Apr. 4, 2003). No intervention was sought by Denise's cousin seeking custody of Nicole. With parental rights terminated, Denise no longer has a voice in the placement of Nicole. Iowa Code § 232.2(56) (2003) ("`Termination of the parent-child relationship' means the divestment by the court of the parent's and child's privileges, duties and powers with respect to each other.").
