IN THE INTEREST OF Z.D.W., A CHILD

On Appeal from the 256th Judicial District Court Dallas County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. DF-15-04242

ORDER

Before the Court is pro se appellant's September 8, 2017 motion to extend time to file brief tendered. We GRANT the motion and ORDER the brief received by the Court on August 31, 2017 filed as of the date of this order.

We note the brief fails to comply with the requirements of Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 38.1. See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.1. Specifically, it fails to:

•list all parties to the trial court's judgment or order appealed from, and the names and addresses of all trial and appellate counsel, except as otherwise provided in Rule 9.8;

•include a table of contents with references to the pages of the brief;

•include an index of authorities arranged alphabetically and indicating the pages of the brief where the authorities are cited;

•state concisely the nature of the case, the course of the proceedings, and the trial court's disposition of the case, with citations to the record;

•state concisely all issues or points presented for review;
•state concisely and without argument the facts pertinent to the issues or points presented;

•contain a succinct, clear, and accurate statement of the arguments made in the body of the brief;

•contain a clear and concise argument for the contentions made, with appropriate citations to the record;

•contain a short conclusion that clearly states the nature of the relief sought; and,

•include an appendix containing a copy of the trial court's judgment; the jury charge and verdict, if any, or the trial court's findings of fact and conclusions of law, if any; the text of any rule, regulation, ordinance, constitutional provision, or other law (excluding case law) on which the argument is based, and the text of any contract or other document that is central to the argument.
See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.1. Accordingly, we ORDER appellant to file an amended brief no later than September 22, 2017. Appellant is cautioned that failure to file the amended brief may result in dismissal of the appeal without further notice. See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.8(a)(1), 42.3(b),(c).
