IN THE INTEREST OF T.N.S., A CHILD

On Appeal from the 326th District Court Taylor County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. 8868-CX

MEMORANDUM OPINION

The parental rights of T.N.S.'s biological father were previously terminated. See In re T.N.S., No. 11-18-00193-CV, 2019 WL 694161, at *1 (Tex. App.—Eastland Feb. 14, 2019, pet. denied) (affirming the trial court's termination order). T.N.S.'s biological father has now filed a notice of appeal from what he states is "a final, appealable order that receded the agreement made between respondent and petitioner (Child Protective Services) as well as the Summerford's." The agreement, according to Appellant, related to continued contact with, letters from, and pictures of T.N.S. When the current appeal was docketed in this court, we notified Appellant by letter that it did not appear to this court that we had jurisdiction in this matter because the order from which Appellant now attempts to appeal is not a final, appealable order. We requested that Appellant respond and show grounds to continue, and we informed Appellant that this appeal may be dismissed.

Appellant has responded, but he has shown no grounds upon which this appeal may continue. Unless specifically authorized by statute, appeals may be taken only from final judgments. Tex. A & M Univ. Sys. v. Koseoglu, 233 S.W.3d 835, 840-41 (Tex. 2007); Lehmann v. Har-Con Corp., 39 S.W.3d 191, 195 (Tex. 2001). Because Appellant's parental rights have previously been terminated in a final order that was affirmed on appeal and because the order from which Appellant now attempts to appeal is not a final, appealable order, we have no jurisdiction to consider this appeal and must dismiss it. See TEX. R. APP. P. 42.3(a).

Accordingly, this appeal is dismissed for want of jurisdiction.

PER CURIAM June 18, 2020 Panel consists of: Bailey, C.J.,
Stretcher, J., and Wright, S.C.J. Willson, J., not participating.

Jim R. Wright, Senior Chief Justice (Retired), Court of Appeals, 11th District of Texas at Eastland, sitting by assignment.
