The Clerk of the Court is directed to reschedule the case for oral argument at the April 2023 session. Further, the parties are directed to file supplemental briefs within 21 days of the date of this order, addressing the following questions: Does the trial court's termination of jurisdiction and dismissal of a child protective proceeding after the Court of Appeals has issued an opinion render an appeal moot, see People v Richmond , 486 Mich. 29, 782 N.W.2d 187 (2010), or are there collateral legal consequences that weigh against mootness, see In re Smith , 324 Mich App 28, 919 N.W.2d 427 (2018), see also Mead v Batchlor , 435 Mich. 480, 486, 460 N.W.2d 493 (1990), abrogated on other grounds by Turner v Rogers , 564 U.S. 431, 131 S.Ct. 2507, 180 L.Ed.2d 452 (2011) ("[w]here a court's adverse judgment may have collateral legal consequences for a [party], the issue is not necessarily moot.").
