On March 31, 2023, this court ordered Appellant Juan Thomas to provide a reasonable explanation for filing a late notice of appeal. See generally Verburgt v. Dorner, 959 S.W.2d 615, 617 (Tex. 1997). On April 11, 2023, Appellant Thomas filed his explanation, which showed that the notice of appeal was not deliberately filed late. See Garcia v. Kastner Farms, Inc., 774 S.W.2d 668, 670 (Tex. 1989) (citing Meshwert v. Meshwert, 549 S.W.2d 383 (Tex. 1977)).
Appellant's motion for extension of time to file a notice of appeal is granted. Appellant's notice of appeal is deemed timely filed. See id. R. 26.3.
